Lockdown Lifted At Pomona Middle School

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A Pomona middle school was briefly on lockdown Friday afternoon.

Police officers were seen patrolling the grounds outside Emerson Middle School at 645 Lincoln Avenue starting at around 1:30 p.m.

The police response was blamed on an alleged false report of a man with a gun on campus, according to Pomona police and school officials.

"This was two girls who were trying to get out of class," said Ryan Hightower with Pomona Unified.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 2 p.m., Hightower said.

No other details were immediately available.
