50 Blind Children To Participate In Easter Egg Hunt With Beeping Eggs

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and AT&T will join forces Wednesday to treat 50 blind children to a pre-holiday Easter egg hunt.

The event, which will begin at 10 a.m. at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, will feature eggs fitted with beepers that emit sounds for easy recovery for the children from the Blind Children's Learning Center.

The Dunes also prepared two giant cookies and Rice Krispy treats for the children to decorate using pastel frosting and an assortment of candy.

The Easter Bunny is also expected to make a surprise visit to deliver treats and lunch.

"While the iconic imagery of Easter (e.g., pastel dyed Easter eggs and colorful Easter baskets) is what makes Easter so exciting for many children this sensory exercise is being carried out to bring alive the Easter season for these disabled youth," Jenna Satariano said in a statement.
