LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Rapper Lil Wayne said he’s doing fine Friday despite conflicting reports that he’s near death.

The 30-year-old hip-hop artist, whose publicist said he is doing well after suffering from a seizure, posted a short message to his fans on Twitter around 6:30 p.m.

Rapper Mack Maine echoed Wayne’s sentiments on his own Twitter account and blasted the media for the false reports.

TMZ reported the rapper was in a medically-induced coma and breathing through tubes after overdosing on sizzurp, a drink made with prescription codeine cough syrup, on Wednesday.

The entertainment website said Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was originally rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital Tuesday after suffering multiple seizures.

He was reportedly released Wednesday, but was taken to the hospital again hours later after the codeine binge, TMZ said.
