Suspect Dead, 2 Police Hurt in Officer-Involved Shooting In Ventura

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was killed Thursday evening during an officer-involved shooting at a motel in Ventura.

Officers initially responded to reports of a disturbance at the Motel 6 in the 2100 block of Harbor Boulevard around 7 p.m.

After a scuffle in a hotel room, the suspect was able to get to his vehicle. He then allegedly tried to run two female officers over with his truck, which prompted them to fire at him.

He was declared dead at the scene and the officers were taken to an area hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
