LA Area Dental Assistant Accused Of Sexually Molesting 15-Year-Old Girl

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — A dental assistant has been accused of sexually molesting a 15-year-old patient during her visits to a Rosemead dentist's office.

Saul Robles, 36, was arrested by detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau in connection to the alleged abuse at SmileCare Dental, which happened from June 2012 to Feb. 2013.

Investigators said the suspect would find reasons to take the girl to a private room and then he would inappropriately touch her.

Law enforcement was notified about the reported sexual contact after the teenager told her mother and a teacher.

Robles, who has been a dental hygienist for six years in the Los Angeles area, has worked at SmileCare Dental in Bellflower and Rosemead for the past four years.

Detectives are looking for other possible victims of Robles.

"Based on how he operated and behaved with his victim, it's possible there might be (others)," said Lt. Carlos Marquez.

The suspect's mother told KCAL9's Brittney Hopper that her son is the father of two girls and a good husband.

"I can't believe this is happening to my son...he's a nice man," the woman said.

Robles' nephew, Amado Torres, said, "For him to actually do that...he's already a grown up man...to actually do that with a teenager...right now I think she made it up."

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273 or email Specialvictims@lasd.org.
