CHP Reopens I-5 Through Grapevine

GORMAN (CBSLA.com) — The Grapevine section of Interstate 5 was reopened Friday after being closed for nearly six hours earlier this morning due to snow and icy road conditions, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The northbound lanes had been closed at Parker Road and the southbound lanes at Grapevine Road.

At 8 a.m., CHP officers began escorting vehicles along the northbound and southbound sides of the roadway, which was later completely reopened.

Angeles Forest Highway also remains closed at Aliso Canyon Road to Route 2, and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road is closed from Angeles Forest Highway to Route 2.

Several cars were also stuck on the 14 Freeway in the Acton area due to heavy snow accumulation on the roadway.
