LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A police pursuit ended Thursday morning with the fatal shooting of a residential burglary suspect in Long Beach, authorities said.

The pursuit began just after 1 a.m. in Redondo Beach after local police responded to a burglary call and discovered that a 2012 BMW was stolen.

The California Highway Patrol spotted the white sedan on the southbound 405 Freeway and a pursuit ensued.

The unidentified suspect exited the freeway at Studebaker and the chase was picked up by the Long Beach Police Department, officials said.
