Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Feb. 8)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are watching an upper level low drop into the Southland This morning.

We are already seeing some moisture associated with the system. The storm will be showery and unstable. That means scattered showers could pop up just about anywhere.

The dynamics with this system are decent, that means there is a good chance we could get a thunderstorm. If that should happen there is a good chance with the cold air aloft we will get some hail.

While the totals from this system will be generally be light, if you are in a thunderstorm...you'll get a good heavy downpour. The big story with this system will be the cold air and low snow levels...by sunrise we could see snow levels at 3000' and as the cold air arrives through the day, those levels could drop down to 2500' feet. That means there is the threat of snow in the foothills above the Santa Clarita Valley and above the Antelope Valley.

We will dry out on Saturday and Sunday. There is another system dropping into the west, but it looks like it is going to focus over the four corner states. Expect very cool conditions all weekend long.
