MENTONE (CBSLA.com) — The death toll from Sunday’s bus accident rose to eight people Wednesday.
Fred Bailey Richardson, the driver of the pickup truck that collided with the bus around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Highway 38 near Bryant Street, died Wednesday morning, CHP Officer Mario Lopez said.READ MORE: Home Surveillance Video Shows Possible Kidnapping In Bell Gardens
Seven others were killed in the collision and dozens more were injured.

A preliminary report from the CHP indicates that the bus went out of control, flipped over and hit the pickup truck that was hauling a trailer.
