David's Bridal Makes Wedding Planning Easier With MyEvent App!

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Wedding planning is just getting easier!

John Leivas, store manager of David's Bridal in Burbank, stopped by KCAL9 Wednesday to show viewers a new app called MyEvent, which allows brides to easily plan, organize, share and track all of their wedding activities!

Here is a list of 6 wedding planning tips:

1). The first and most important thing on the bride's mind is the perfect dress! She's flipping through magazines, browsing the internet, and looking to celebrities for bridal advice! David's Bridal has the perfect gown for every woman that will flatter her figure, is on trend, and fashion affordable! Here are three spring 2013 trends that will definitely make a statement when you walk down the aisle:

2). Brides that want to plan their wedding the traditional way will turn to event planners and books to write out their every inspiration and thought. Many brides are turning to the internet, and David's Bridal came up with an online tool called MyEvent that eases the wedding planning process and keeps you organized!

With this new tool, you can:

  • Build your own planning community and Connect with your wedding party on our interactive newsfeed!
  • Create mood boards for creativity and inspiration and create shopping lists for everyone in your wedding!
  • Prioritize, assign, and organize your wedding to-dos with customized task lists and manage budgets.

3). The location is the second most important aspect to any wedding, and these days couples are thinking outside the box when it comes to venues! If you want a non-traditional location, think theme parks, castles, restaurants, or a friend's backyard, rather than traditional venues like hotels, country clubs or fire halls!

4). Pick your bridal party colors first, and the flowers will come easy! Keep in mind what flowers are available during the time of your wedding, and that flowers in season are less expensive.  You can also create your own flower arrangements by collecting vases of different shapes and styles!

5). Since people still love party favors, create your own by using ribbon and cute bags to package home baked goods and candy that will definitely satisfy your guest's sweet tooth!

6). Thank you notes are as important as your invitations.  A great time to write them is on the plane ride to your honeymoon destination while the memory is still fresh.  If you want to be creative and DIY, buy postcards from your honeymoon location and write them during your downtime!
