Plane With Reported Mechanical Problem Lands Safely At LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A plane landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday morning after declaring an emergency.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight 7 bound for Honolulu was diverted to LAX after reporting a mechanical problem involving a cargo fire indicator.

According to officials, the plane had departed from Las Vegas.

It landed without incident about 10:18 a.m.

Following an investigation, officials said there was no indication that a fire had occurred in the cargo hold.

The 287 passengers aboard the flight were deplaned after the landing. No injuries were reported.

Hawaiian Airlines could not immediately be reached for comment.

No further details were available.
