Series Of Crashes Injures 8 Overnight On Hollywood Freeway

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Several people were injured in six accidents on the Hollywood (101) Freeway early Friday morning.

The six separate crashes were triggered by a single-vehicle accident that was reported around 12:20 a.m. on the southbound portion of the freeway at Highland Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.

Seven people suffered minor injuries in the crashes. One person was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle after getting out of her car.

All eight victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, officials said.

The accidents involved 16 vehicles altogether and forced the CHP to shut down the southbound 101 Freeway.

All lanes were reopened around 2:20 a.m., the CHP said.
