Singer Chris Brown Becomes Latest Target Of 'Swatting'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Chris Brown is the latest victim of a celebrity "swatting" prank.

Los Angeles police responded to Brown's Hollywood Hills home around 5 p.m. Monday after they received an anonymous call about a domestic violence situation at the residence.

When officers arrived, Brown's employees were at the home, but he was not.

Police searched the residence and didn't find any evidence of domestic violence.

Brown pleaded guilty in June 2009 to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna after a pre-Grammy Awards party in February of that year.

Monday's false alarm is the most recent "swatting" incident in which a prankster makes an anonymous call alerting authorities, and often SWAT Teams, to a phony crime at a celebrity's home.

Ashton Kutcher, Kanye West, Tom Cruise and Miley Cyrus have all fallen victim to similar pranks.
