Family, Friends Of Man, 19, Fatally Shot Outside Hollywood Nightclub To Hold Candlelight Vigil
HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Family, friends and community activists will hold a candlelight vigil Friday evening outside a Hollywood nightclub where 19-year-old Andre Lowe was fatally shot.
The vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. outside the Empire Night Club at 1716 N. Cahuenga Blvd.
Lowe was shot around 2 a.m. Sunday after a fight broke out in the club.
"Basically, the club was shutting down. We were on our way out. A couple girls got into a scuffle. A couple guys tried to get involved to break it up and while that was going on I guess the guys got a little heated," witness Jeffrey Valera said.
Robert Earl Thomas III, 22, was arrested Wednesday night in Las Vegas on suspicion of shooting Lowe.
The victim, a recent graduate of Etiwanda High School, lived in South Los Angeles with his father.
Family and friends are also expected to make a plea for stricter gun control laws.
