Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Jan. 10)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A cold front and trough are moving through the area this morning.

Isolated showers are falling in Santa Barbara County...but as expected this is not a significant rain event at all.

There is the chance for scattered showers through the day. We are seeing some gusty winds already and cold air will start filtering into the area. The winds and cold weather will be the main component of this system.

While there is not a lot of moisture with this system, whatever moisture there is, in the mountains will come down as snow...and those snow levels could drop quite low. We could see some flurries in the Antelope Valley.

Expect Friday and Saturday mornings to be the coldest with overnight lows in the 30s downtown, teens for the high desert and single digits for the mountains. The trough remains in place through the weekend...and there is even the possibility of a wave of energy rotating through it on Sunday which could give us another shower chance.

Look for warming by the middle of next week with a possible Santa Ana wind.
