LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting in Watts.

The incident at the intersection of Grape and 97th streets occurred about 8:47 p.m. Saturday.

“One suspect was wounded and transported to a local hospital for treatment,” Deputy Don Walker of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau said. “No officers were injured.”

The suspect’s current condition was not immediately known.

Authorities report that sheriff’s homicide detectives are assisting the South Gate Police Department with the investigation.

There was no official word on what led up to the shooting.
