British Man Arrested At Redlands Motel After Traveling Over 6K Miles To Meet Girl, 13

REDLANDS (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old British citizen has been arrested by local police after traveling thousands of miles to meet a 13-year-old Highland he had an online relationship with.

Adam James Michael Robinson was arrested Thursday for committing lewd acts with a child under 14, Redlands police said.

Authorities allege Robinson traveled from the UK to meet the teen a Redlands motel.

"Robinson had established an on-line relationship with the victim over the course of the past year and he flew into California on December 15," Det. Andy Capps said.

Police were first alerted to the crime after the victim's parents made the girl report the crime to local law enforcement.

Robinson was later arrested by police at a motel on Industrial Park Avenue where the alleged lewd acts took place, officials said.

Evidence found in the room and the suspect's vehicle linked him to the victim, Capps said.

Robinson was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $1 million bail. The Immigration and Naturalization Service has placed a hold on him.
