Henry's Tacos To Remain Open 2 More Weeks ... At Least

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The landmark Henry's Tacos will stay open two more weeks, at least, according to current owner Janis Hood.

Hood has agreed to remain open until January 15th to give prospective buyers a chance to work out a deal with the property's landlord.

She said the two prospective buyers are long-time customers (35 years and counting) who have been pals since junior high.

Hood said the prospective buyer plans to keep the business and staff exactly the same. She inherited the business from her mother who died three years ago. Her grandfather started the iconic taco stand 51 years ago.

Last week, actors like "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul and Elijah Wood rallied fans and media support to keep the taco stand open.

Hood posted on Henry's Taco's Facebook wall: "Folks, please don't say anything more about the buyer or anything re: the sale of Henry's yet. This is far from a done deal and I know none of us wants to jeopardize a POSSIBLE deal in any way! The parties involved in a lease negotiation are talking again and I have agreed to keep running Henry's until 1/15. However, if a deal is NOT reached by 1/10, I will have to start making a move. Thanks for understanding."
