Jenni Rivera's Family Accompanies Her Remains Back Home

LAKEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The family of popular banda singer Jenni Rivera accompanied her remains from Mexico to Long Beach Airport Thursday evening.

Rivera's private plane crashed Sunday, killing her and six others on board.

KCAL9's Louisa Hodge was outside Rivera's mother's Lakewood home Thursday evening where hundreds of fans also turned out to support the Rivera family.

The private plane carrying Rivera's remains landed just after 9 p.m. and taxied to a small hangar away from the media.

The remains were driven by hearse — with a three-car police escort — to All Souls Mortuary in Long Beach.

It was also reported Thursday that two Mexican police officers were found with stolen property from the plane's crash scene. Investigators did not specify what the items were.
