Hollywood Sign Revealed After 9-Week Makeover
HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — City officials Tuesday revealed the refurbished Hollywood sign.
The project, which cost $175,000, took nine weeks to complete.
Beginning on Oct. 2, the landmark was stripped, pressure-washed and refinished with nearly 400 gallons of primer and white paint.
The 45-foot-tall sign has been on Mount Lee in the Santa Monica Mountains since 1978 and originally read "Hollywoodland."
