Elderly Man Fatally Shoots Wife, Himself At Torrance Hospital

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — An elderly man fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself at a Torrance hospital Saturday night.

Torrance Police officers responded to the fourth floor of Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital around 10:15 p.m. after shots were reported.

An initial investigation revealed the man's wife was a patient at the hospital.

The couple was pronounced dead at the scene.

A handgun was recovered and investigators said there are no outstanding suspects.

The man and women were identified by detectives, but their names are being withheld until next of kin is notified.
