4-Big Rig Crash Closes WB 210 Freeway Transition In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — An accident involving four big rigs closed the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway at the Ventura (134) Freeway split early Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened near the Orange Grove Bridge just before 2:30 a.m., officials said.

Two of the four big rigs jackknifed, but no injuries were reported.

According to the CHP, an unknown amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the freeway and into area storm drains.

Crews are waiting for heavy duty tow trucks to help move the big rigs.

One lane of the transition  road to 134 Freeway was reopened just before 7 a.m.. The 210 Freeway was reopened around 9 a.m., the CHP said.

The CHP believes the accident was caused by driver error and is not weather related.
