L.A. Live To Host E-Waste Drive On 'America Recycles Day'

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — L.A. Live, STAPLES Center and Waste Management Thursday will host Los Angeles' largest waste and recycling collection event as part of America Recycles Day.

For the third year in a row, the public can drop off E-waste – including computers, TVs and VCRs – from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at STAPLES Center. The items, which can be dropped off in Parking Lot 7 at 1150 S. Figueroa, will then be recycled.

ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS FOR RECYCLING:
Computers- CPU and Laptop, Computer Monitors
- Computer Peripherals- printers, keyboards, mice
- Fax Machines
- Photocopiers
- Televisions
- VCRs/Stereos
- Home and Office Phones
- Cell Phones
- Consumer Electronics
- Microwaves

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS FOR THIS EVENT:
- Light bulbs
- Batteries
- Smoke Alarms/Detectors or Fire Alarms/Detectors
- Thermometers, Dehumidifiers
- Any unit with sludge or liquids
- Large and Small Appliances - refrigerators, etc.
- Non Decontaminated Medical Equipment
