Apparent Stabbing Victim Plows Van Into Lynwood Complex

LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A van driven by an apparent stabbing victim plowed into a Lynwood apartment complex, injuring one woman and displacing a family.

Sheriff's deputy Robert Clarke said the accident near Beachwood and Atlantic avenues occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the van told police that he was picking up his children a few blocks when a man forced his way into his vehicle, attacked him with a knife and took off.

Clarke said, "the victim drove down the alley and crashed into the apartment building."

Louisa Hodge, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the driver was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

According to Clarke, a woman standing behind a door was injured. She was treated for minor injuries, possibly to her ankle.

No further information on the crash was available.
