SoCal Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend Whose Body Was Found In Submerged Car

BIG BEAR  (AP) — A Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend whose body was found in a submerged vehicle.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's department says 56-year-old Ronald Michael Hitchcock was arrested late Saturday at a lakeside park in Big Bear. Deputies responding to a call about a soaking wet man yelling in the park spoke to Hitchcock, who told them his car had gone into the lake.

Divers searched the lake and found the body of 53-year-old Deborah Crouch and a dog inside the vehicle.

The San Bernardino Sun reports Hitchcock was being held in county jail without bail.
