A Delicious Southern California Weekend: Taste of Newport

Foodies and cocktail connoisseurs, mark your calendars as the 24th annual Taste of Newport hits Orange County September 14-16. Over 50,000 people are expected to turn out for the gourmet celebration from more than 35 local restaurants and 15 wineries. Enjoy the swankiest cocktails, including Grey Goose martinis, Bacardi libations, Corzo Margaritas, as well as rich-tasting brews, live cooking demonstrations, plus there will be live entertainment.

So what's on the menu to sample? How about 100 food items—ranging from sushi and seared ahi, to filet mignon and prime rib, to sausage sandwiches and crème brulee. American, Asian, Italian, Brazilian, Mexican, seafood…you name it, it will be there.

The live music scene will feature 2011 Billboard Artist to Watch and pop star, Andy Grammer, on Friday. Then Saturday, Blondie and Devo will flashback onto the stage. Finally, Sunday will wrap up the weekend with rock icon Roger Hodgson, the voice of Supertramp.

Tickets are available in advance at www.tasteofnewport.com. General admission tickets are just $22 in advance. Children 8 and under are free, and there is plenty of free parking. Also, a limited number of VIP concert tickets are available starting at just $75, and includes reserved section seating in the first 20 rows, valet parking, free event admission, access to the concert VIP tent with private bartenders and more.

Event hours are: Friday, September 14th from 6 - 11 p.m.; Saturday, September 15th from 4 - 11 p.m.; and Sunday, September 16th from Noon - 8 p.m.
