Actress Amanda Bynes Charged With Hit-And-Run
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles District Attorney has charged actress Amanda Bynes with two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run.
The DA's office confirms to CBS2 that the charges were filed Tuesday.
On April 10, the actress allegedly rear-ended a BMW on the 101 Freeway and left the scene. But, city prosecutors rejected the case because of lack of evidence, according to TMZ.
The actress was accused of another hit-and-run in August, which prompted authorities to reexamine the April incident.
If convicted, Bynes faces up to a year in jail. She is due in court for arraignment on Sept. 27 in Van Nuys.
In June, the actress pleaded not guilty to DUI charges stemming from an April 6 arrest where she reportedly clipped a sheriff's car in West Hollywood.
