Soccer Coach Allegedly Assaults 16-Year-Old Player From Opposing Team At Community Center

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An argument escalated into a fist fight at a community soccer game in Simi Valley Monday afternoon, police reported.

The fight broke out shortly after 5 p.m., just after teams from Conejo Valley and Antelope Valley had finished a match at the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center.

Eyewitnesses told police that the coach of the Conejo Valley team, 47-year-old Bart Allan, rushed onto the field and began throwing punches.

The Westlake Village resident allegedly struck a 16-year-old boy from the opposing team, injuring his nose and cheek.

Allan reportedly admitted to police that he fought during the confrontation, but claimed he didn't hit any of the juvenile players.

Police arrested Allan for battery and corporal injury to a child.

The victim's parents said they would take the boy to a doctor.

No one else was injured.
