LENNOX (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Thursday morning in a traffic accident, officials said.

The deputy was on his way to assist another officer when the accident occurred near West 92nd Street and South Normandie Avenue at 6:19 a.m., authorities said.

In order to avoid a collision with another driver, the deputy crashed into a church.

The deputy was transported to UCLA Harbor Medical Center in unknown condition.
