SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — An Australian man died Wednesday after being struck by an alleged drunk driver the night before in Santa Monica.
The 50-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue against a “Don’t Walk” sign at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department.READ MORE: Three People Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Orange
Cara Cameron, 26, was driving on a green light and couldn’t stop before hitting the victim.
The man’s 8-year-old daughter was injured, but his wife was all right.

Cameron was arrested and booked for felony driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
She posted $100,000 bail and will appear in court Sept. 21.
