2 Sought In Connection With Street Shooting In Coachella

COACHELLA (CBSLA.com) — Two men were being sought after allegedly firing five shots from the middle of a Coachella street.

The shooting in the 52000 block of Calle Avila occurred just before 6 p.m. Friday, reported sheriff's Sgt. Mike Tapp in a statement released.

"The investigation revealed the victims were in the backyard at the residence when two suspects fired five shots from the middle of the street on Avenue 53," the statement said.

No one was injured.

The suspects, described by authorities as Hispanic men, fled westbound on Avenue 53.

One was heavy set wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts. The other had a thin build and was seen wearing a white T shirt and black shorts.
