Propane Tanker Truck Overturns In San Bernardino County

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) —  A propane tanker truck overturned while traveling northbound on Hwy. 38 near Jenks Lake Road East in San Bernardino County Sunday morning about 9:45, according to San Bernardino County Fire.

The tanker landed on the passenger side near the edge of the roadway.

The tanker's male driver was able to exit the semi on his own. He was the vehicle's lone occupant.

There were no other vehicles involved in the collision.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain a small diesel fuel spillage.

Another propane carrier arrived to off-load and transfer the 9,600 gallons of propane.

As a precaution against fire catching nearby brush and forest, firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire and the U.S. Forest Service arrived to fight any potential blaze.

The driver reportedly sustained minor injuries and was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation into the cause of the accident.
