Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 30)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — It was a lovely weekend in the LA Basin, however some inland cities did get pretty warm over the weekend. Expect similar weather as we progress through the work week.

There is a ridge of high pressure over the Pacific and a larger ridge centered over the heartland. These two features will give us more of the same, some low clouds at the beach and sunshine everywhere else.

Temperatures will hover slightly below average today, but then for the rest of the week we should be at or a little above average. The only fly in the ointment of this forecast will be the monsoonal flow. The forecast models have been going back and forth on the possibility of instability Tuesday and Wednesday. The latest models this morning show a good chance for a desert or mtn thunderstorm in Riverside and San Bernardino County. There is also even a slight chance that instability could stretch into the LA Basin. So we will watch for that, nevertheless you can expect some higher humidity, which will make it feel a little sticky for some of our hot inland areas.

Beaches - low 70s
Basin -low 80s
Valleys - mid 90s
Deserts - near 100
Mountains -mid 70s
