FBI Looking For 'Plain Jane' Bank Robber

BUENA PARK (CBS) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation and local authorities are looking for a woman who has robbed five banks, three of which in the past 24 hours.

The unidentified woman, referred to as the "Plain Jane" bandit, has reportedly robbed a Chase bank and four U.S. Bank branches in Santa Fe Springs, Whittier, Moreno Valley, and Buena Park.

The most recent robbery took place Tuesday at a U.S. Bank branch at 5470 Beach Blvd. in Buena Park.

The FBI said she also hit up a bank in Wildomar in the Inland Empire.

During the robberies, the suspect uses written and verbal demands and indicates that someone, possibly an accomplice, is waiting for her outside the bank.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic woman between 5'3" and 5'5", 150 to 170 pounds, and between 35 and 40 years old. She may also have a scar below or next to her right eye, as well as a possible tattoo on her right shoulder area.

She's possibly driving a four-door silver vehicle with a sun-roof.

Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
