Sleeping Homeless Man Stabbed In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBS) — Police are looking for the person who stabbed a homeless man sleeping on a bus bench in Santa Monica early Tuesday.

The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. on the 500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The Caucasian man in his late 50s said he was sleeping when he suddenly woke up to a sharp pain. A knife was still in his back when police arrived after receiving a call from a passerby.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was in serious condition as of midday.
