Under The Summer Stars: Shakespeare's 'As You Like It' In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Ben Donenberg, the artistic director of The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, and actor Michael Dorn, well known for his role of Klingon Lt. Commander Worf from "Star Trek," visited KCAL Friday to talk about working onstage in Shakespeare's romantic comedy "As You Like It".

The production brings together some other well-known actors such as Tessa Thompson, known for her roles on "Grey's Anatomy," "Heroes," and "Veronica Mars" as well as Peter Cambor, who appeared "NCIS: Los Angeles."

Performances for "As You Like It" are running through July 29 at the outdoor Japanese Garden on the grounds of the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center Campus. The outdoor venue allows audiences to enjoy an intimate area that's fun for kids and adults.  Guests can enjoy a picnic on a summer night and live music under the stars.

This production also allows the Shakespeare Center to continue working with veterans. Aside from the veterans who work backstage and on the front end, there are also two veterans who are part of the performance.

Dates:  Now through July 29

Tuesday through Sunday at 8 p.m.

Gates Open at 6:30 p.m. for pre-show picnics
