Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Hospitalized For Cardiac Arrest

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Actor Michael Clarke Duncan went into cardiac arrest Friday and was taken to a Los Angeles hospital, where his condition stabilized.

"According to doctors, Michael Clarke Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction early this morning," according to Duncan's publicist, Joy Fehily. "He is now stable, and we look forward to his full recovery."

The 54-year-old actor was found just before 2 a.m. by his girlfriend, Omarosa Stallworth of "Apprentice" fame, who performed CPR and was able to resuscitate him, the website TMZ reported.

Duncan was being treated in the intensive care unit of a local hospital, where his heart rate later became stable.

The burly actor is best known for his role as a mysterious death row inmate opposite Tom Hanks in "The Green Mile." The Chicago native has also appeared in films such as "Sin City," "Planet of the Apes," "Armageddon" and "Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby."
