Red Flag Warning In Effect For LA County Mountains, Adjacent Foothills
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for parts of Southern California as a result of heightened fire weather conditions.
The warning in effect the Los Angeles County Mountains and adjacent foothills was set to expire at 9 p.m. Sunday.
The NWS said hot and very dry conditions along with gusty southerly winds were expected across the Southland through Monday.
Meantime, a warming trend moving into the region Sunday is expected to stick around through Wednesday.
CBS2's Meteorologist Kaj Goldberg reported that an excessive heat watch for the eastern sections of San Bernardino County will go into effect Tuesday morning through Wednesday night with potential temperatures ranging from 110-115 degrees.
Additionally, an excessive heat warning will also go into effect at 10 a.m. Monday for the eastern sections of Riverside County, as well as, Imperial County.
A slight cool down is expected Thursday.
