Man Suspected Of Killing Girlfriend, Her Son In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBS) — A man has reportedly been taken into custody on Friday on suspicion of killing his girlfriend and her son.

Relatives of Chelsea Jones tell CBS2's Greg Mills that she was found shot to death inside her home in the 24000 block of Myers Avenue about 4:45 a.m. Friday.

"I got the phone call this morning that she was dead and had been shot and I needed to come down here," Sylvester Jones, the victim's father, said.

Police said one body was found inside the home while the second victim, who was still alive when they arrived, was taken to a hospital where they died.

Jones said he was told the second victim is his teenage grandson although he says detectives didn't address that with him when he arrived from Las Vegas where he resides.

"They have not said anything about my grandson at all. I know he got shot too," he said.

Jones said authorities told him his daughter's boyfriend was in custody. According to police, there were no outstanding suspects.
