Death Of Infant At Santa Ana Trailer Park Deemed 'Suspicious'

SANTA ANA (CBS) — Police say the death of an infant at a Santa Ana trailer park is considered "suspicious."

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics went to the 500 block of S. Sullivan St. at about 4:22 p.m. to check on a 2-month-old baby who was not breathing, Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion said.

There appeared to be signs of child abuse," Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said, adding "the circumstances there are suspicious in nature."

The baby's name was not immediately released.

Officials said the 2-month-old girl apparently drowned in a Jacuzzi-style tub.

The baby was reportedly found by her grandmother when she came home from a shopping trip, according to Anthony Bertagna.

The home is shared by a mother, father, three teenage children and another family.

One of the teenaged boys reportedly gave the baby CPR until paramedics were able to reach the scene.
