2 Armed Men Reportedly Nab Victims' Car In Home Invasion Robbery

RANCHO MIRAGE (CBS) — Two armed men forced their way into a #RanchoMirage home today, ransacking the residence and then fleeing in the victims' car.

The robbery occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Sierra Madre Way, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. An exact address was not provided.

Sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Nielsen said a man armed with a pistol and another armed with a knife barged into the home and stole valuables, while holding the occupants at gunpoint.

The bandits then stole the victims' vehicle and fled the area, according to the sergeant.

No one was hurt, and the car was later found in Coachella.

Both men were described as Hispanic, between 25 and 35 years old. One suspect was about 5-foot-9 with a thin build, and the other was around 6 feet tall and heavy set.

Anyone with information was urged to call the sheriff's Rancho Mirage station at (760) 836-1600, or (760) 836-3215.
