Car Crash, Surgery And ICU Stay Can't Keep Couple From Altar

COLTON  (AP) — A major surgery wasn't going to keep Kalin Mathews from going ahead with her plans to wed the father of her 6-week-old baby.

The Southern California woman put on her wedding dress Saturday and was wheeled from the intensive care unit at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to wed Josh Francel.

The couple, who are both 20 years old, was driving on Father's Day when they were severely injured in a head-on collision.

Mathews' liver was cut in half and Francel suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports their baby and Mathew's 3-year-old daughter from another relationship were bruised up but are fine

The couple thought they'd have to cancel their wedding planned for Saturday until the hospital allowed them to marry outside the ICU.
