Palmdale Customer Assaults Walmart Greeter For Asking For Receipt

PALMDALE (CBS) — Investigators on Friday asked the public for help in finding a suspect who hit a Walmart greeter on the head with a bottle after being asked to show receipts while leaving the store.

The employee suffered serious injuries in the assault, which happened around 10:20 p.m. on May 28 at the Walmart near 47th Street and Avenue S, according to a statement from the sheriff's Palmdale Station.

The victim noticed the suspect walking out of the store with two bottles of liquor which had not been purchased and asked to see a receipt.

The suspect responded by striking the employee with one of the bottles, causing lacerations and a possible head fracture, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about the suspect was urged to call sheriff's detectives at (661) 272-2446.
