Burglar Breaks Into Arcadia Home To Take A Shower, Have A Snack

ARCADIA (CBS) — A burglar broke into an Arcadia condo over the weekend, but didn't take money or jewelry – she took a shower.

Police say they are looking for the woman, described as having flower tattoos on both sides of her face, who broke into a condo in the 1100 block of West Duarte Road Saturday afternoon, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.

The resident returned home about 2:30 p.m. to find her front door chained from the inside and the screen removed from an opened rear window. The resident climbed inside and heard water running in her shower and her bedroom television turned on, police told the Tribune.

The burglar called out from the shower, asking the victim what she wanted, the newspaper reported. The resident told the burglar to get out and went to call a friend for help.

The burglar walked out the front door 10 minutes later, also grabbing the resident's keys, but said nothing on her way out.

Police say the burglar also took a bag of cherries from the refrigerator and poured herself a glass of apple juice, as if preparing a snack for after her shower.

The burglar also "lightly" ransacked the master bedroom, but nothing else was reported stolen.

After news of the burglary became public, a neighbor realized that the same burglar may have been the same person who used her washer and dryer while she was away on vacation.

"Definitely worried that she might come back and maybe this time, she might break into my place," Esther Villegas said.

The burglar was described as a 5-foot-11, 170-pound 40-year-old black woman with black hair, with flower tattoos on each side of her face, wearing a blue or green shirt and capri pants.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the suspect's identity can call Arcadia Police at (626) 574-5156.
