Pit Bull Attacks Baby Girl In Norco

NORCO (CBS) — A toddler who wandered into the backyard of her family's home was attacked by their pit bull Monday, authorities reported.

The 19-month-old girl went outside when a babysitter opened the door to the backyard at approximately 9:30 a.m., according to a Riverside County sheriff's spokesman. The family's pit bull allegedly bit the girl several times before the babysitter could step in.

Authorities were called to the home, located in the 600 block of Sixth Street near Hillside Avenue, and listed the child's injuries as moderate.

The little girl was taken to Corona Regional Medical Center, according to CalFire officials.

Animal control officials placed the dog in quarantine.
