Man's Arm Severed In Santa Ana Industrial Accident

SANTA ANA (CBS) — A 60-year-old man is in critical condition Friday after his arm was severed in an industrial accident.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at GE Aviation Systems on East Dyer Road in Santa Ana.

Fire officials say the man's arm got caught in a lathe and he suffered an "immediate and traumatic amputation" just below his elbow.

The accident has been reported to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
