Stop Over-Styling Your Hair With Tips From Harry Josh
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Having bad hair days? It may be due to over-styling!
Stylist Harry Josh, the John Frieda International Creative Consultant, stopped by the KCAL9 studios Wednesday to encourage women to put down the flatiron and hairdryer and stop over-styling.
Harry wants women to end the damage cycle but not compromise their styling—here are a few tips from the man who has touched the heads of celebrities like Gisele, Amanda Seyfried, and Rose Byrne:
• Pick a weapon: Protect your hair with a heat-activated styler. The best formulas protect your hair while you're styling and reverse past damaged.
• Use the right tools: Toss brushes with wire bristles. They heat up under a blowdryer and snag and break hair. Try a natural bristle brush instead.
• Take a day off: Don't wash your hair everyday if you don't have to. Overwashing strips your hair of natural oils, contributing to broken strands. Try refreshing your hair with a dry shampoo (which will soak up oil AND help hold your blowout).
