$5K Raised At Carwash To Benefit Boy, 17, Killed Pushing Disabled Vehicle

ANAHEIM (CBS) — A 17-year-old Stanton boy was killed Tuesday night while trying to push a disabled Honda Civic in the 2800 block of West Cerritos Avenue.

Juan Daniel Barbosa Pedraza was struck by a pickup truck, which pinned him between the two vehicles, around 9 p.m.

Officials say the victim and two of his family members were trying to move the vehicle, which had no lights on, before a Wednesday morning street cleaning.

The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The driver of the truck was not cited because officials say he did not have time to stop.

A memorial fund was established for Juan Daniel at Bank of America, account #0090702969.

More than $5,000 was raised by family and friends at a carwash Saturday.
