Felix and her boyfriend Jose Gonzalez, of West Covina, were visiting her mother at her Sun City home when Felix awoke early in the morning with labor pains. Her sister came over to drive her to the hospital but while in transit Felix's baby decided she couldn't wait any longer.

"Well I said that I felt we weren't going to make it because I could feel the baby coming," Felix said.

The family called 911 and pulled the car over to the side of the 15 Freeway, where little Lea Racio Gonzalez was born. The infant, weighing 5 lb. 14 oz, was a surprise to her family who hadn't known the baby's gender.

The baby's grandmother delivered the baby with no prior medical experience.

Felix's sister used her camera to document the entire experience.

Paramedics arrived to find the infant wrapped in a blanket, which Felix's sister had the foresight to bring along, and the baby's mother and family in good spirits.

Felix's sister said she will never sell that car after the momentous family memory that occurred inside her SUV that day.
