Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (April 17)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Welcome to some great springtime weather for Southern California.

Temperatures are well above average, and even with a Northwest flow today, we are still going to experience daytime highs similar to yesterday. We hit 77 downtown.

The high pressure strengthens from Wednesday through Friday with temperatures getting well into the 80s. Saturday also looks warm, but we may see a couple of degrees of cooling.

Valley temperatures could easily hit near 90 degrees. I would say Friday is going to be the warmest day of our extended period. Now, as far as the cut-off low for next week goes, it's all over the place.

The morning model runs saw the system coming into Southern California. Now, it has it remaining off-shore. It's still a crap shoot if we get rain next week.

However, this transition time as we move from our winter weather pattern into the spring pattern tends to oversell some of these storms. Stay tuned!

Beaches -low 70s
Basin - upper 70s
Valleys - low 80s
Deserts -low 80s
Mountains - low 60s
